Mod My Life

Mod My Life
My friend Chris recently directed my attention to a new site called “Mod My Life” which cleverly bears the tagline: “Wanna Control Someone?”. The idea behind the site is as follows:

  1. People who work for the site, called “Modstars” do a live broadcast of their “modcast” for members of the site to watch.
  2. During the live “modcast”, members are given an opportunity to “chat, enter ideas, and vote for what happens next” (from their site)
  3. The most popular suggestions win, and the “Modstar” precedes to act out the suggestions.

Now, you may be thinking, “Wait a minute, is this wholesome entertainment? Who’s to say that people aren’t suggesting that they break the law or bring harm to people and/or their property?” To keep things in line, their FAQ page, has a list of very clear rules called “The 10 Commandments of Mod My Life“. Among these “Commandments” are rules like: “Don’t physically hurt people or animals” and “Don’t make our modstars do illegal activities. We can’t afford bail ” as well as “Don’t mess with old people”.

The site also allows viewers to watch previous modcasts, and I must say, they’re quite humorous. You’ve gotta feel for the innocent bystanders who don’t know what’s going on. Their reactions are quite priceless!

Here’s one of their Modstars carrying on an emotional argument with a lampost:

Be sure to catch the next Modcast by Modstar “Wilder” tonight at 8pm (EST). If you can’t see that one, Lakisha will be live Tomorrow evening at the same time.

Amazing Battlestar Galactica Season 1-3 Recap Clip

April 02, 2008 By: Michael Nease Category: Entertainment, Television, video No Comments →

I’m a huge “Battlestar Galactica” fan. My only problem is that I almost entirely missed Season 2. Thanks to my DVR, I’ve been able to catch up with most of the series, but there were a few holes in the story line that I was missing. I write “was missing” because thanks to a clever 8 minute 18 second recap clip of all 3 seasons of “Battlestar Galactica”, I now completely know what’s going on.

The clip is a very abridged version of the 30 minute recap that aired on the SciFi Channel last week, and is quite tongue and cheek!

Whether you’re like me and have watched “most” of the series, or if you’re like those who have never watched a single episode, and don’t want to sit through all 3 seasons, this is the answer that you’re looking for. So, grab one of those tiny 100 calorie bags of microwave popcorn, turn down the lights, sit back with your headphones or a nice sound system and enjoy:

Do I deliver, or do I deliver?
